On Saturday, 2nd April 2022, nineteen ladies took to the course for a 9-hole competition to start the summer fixtures.    On a glorious morning, Anne Spence came first with a fantastic score of 33 nett closely followed by Storm Anderson with 34 nett.

The main event of the day then followed with the presentation of the Winter League prizes by organiser – Nicola Sutherland.   The scores from the last two rounds had been kept secret so there was great suspense as to who the winners would be.   Showing very good consistency throughout the winter, Lynn Slater was the delighted winner of the Winter League and the Wisehart Trophy with 32.5 points.   Tina Smith had been steadily catching up over the last few weeks and was in 2nd place with 31 points followed by Audrey Poke in 3rd with 28.   Elaine Wishart, who had a late run and scored points in all of the last 5 rounds was 4th with 27 points, Karen Dunnett was 5th with 26, Ida Seator came 6th with 24.5 points then in 7th = were Storm Anderson and Nicola Sutherland with 24 points.

Elaine won the nett Ringer Trophy with a score of 27 followed in 2nd = by Lynn, Tina and Doreen on 29.   The gross Ringer winner was Nicola with 32.   Nicola presented the prizes which included vouchers very generously provided by DeLille Diament.   Twenty-eight ladies have taken part over the nineteen rounds played in the winter league.

The secret score winners were – week 21 – Jen Sharpe with 37 nett and week 22 there was a tie between Jenna McDill and Elaine Wishart on 36 nett.

A big thank you to Nicola for her excellent job running the hugely successful Winter League and Elaine for the soup and Ida for cakes also thank you to greenkeeper Rae for the great condition of the course.

Well played ladies and good luck for the coming season which continues with a 9-hole Stableford on Thursday, 7th April which can be entered through the Scottish Golf App.
